Mental Health and Wellness Services
I am a firm believer in promoting mental health and wellness through awareness, balance, mind-body connections, nutrition and exercise – versus a symptom-based approach. I also believe clients want and need to take control of/responsibility for their lives. I draw from a variety of therapeutic models when working with clients. I particularly endorse Cognitive-Behavioral, Gestalt, and Solution-Focused Therapy models. The clients I work with come with an open-mind for new ideas and intentions for change and improvement in all aspects of their lives.

Therapy Models – A Brief Description
Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy (CBT) – is an empirically supported therapy treatment that examines a client's maladaptive patterns of thinking and their deeper belief system that brings about such thinking.
Gestalt Therapy – therapy treatment in which key concepts are: awareness, personal responsibility, experiencing the "here and now," and examining a person's relationships with others and the world.
Solution-Focused Therapy – concentrates on the present and future, supports that change is continuous, helps clients identify the things that they want to change in their life and the things they want to continue happening in their life. |
